The Large Wifi Guard (faraday cage)

For years, my advise #1 on how to shield ourselves from serious adverse health effects from exposure to the electromagnetic fields (EMF) has been “distance is your friend”. But as much as we try to take measures to reduce our exposure to the harmful EMFs, it’s almost impossible to avoid them. One of the largest sources of the EMFs are our wifi-routers.
We always make sure that our bodies take a break from man-made radio frequencies at night by switching our wifi-router off before going to bed. But since our router is located in the kitchen where we spend a lot of time, I’ve been very concerned about its impact on us during the daytime.
The Large Router Guard is what’s called a “Faraday” cage in electrical terms. It’s a metal enclosure formed by conductive material or by a mesh of such material. Such an enclosure blocks external static and non-static electric fields by channeling electricity through the mesh, providing constant voltage on all sides of the enclosure. Since the difference in voltage is the measure of electrical potential, no current flows through the space. A faraday cage operates because an external static electrical field causes the electric charges within the cage’s interior.
While Faraday cages are designed to block 100% of the radiofrequency waves (RF), this wifi router guard by Smart Meter Watch blocks approximately 85-90% of the harmful EMFs. This means you can still use your router when it’s in the Large Router Guard because the 10% or so of the EMF that gets out still allows you to use your router.
CAN ALUMINUM FOIL DO THE SAME JOB?
Aluminum foil both blocks and reflects radiation. The issues with aluminum foil or other “reflective” material is that they can actually reflect the EMFs in a direction you don’t want. In addition, it can concentrate the radiation in areas you don’t want it to go.

Description
The Wifi Guard is constructed of stainless steel mesh and stainless steel support ribs. It is fabricated, molded, hemmed, assembled, spot welded and then polished by a metal fabricator in the US, not China. It is technically a custom Faraday cage designed specifically to block EMF emitted from wifi routers.
The Large Wifi Guard is very easy to install and there’s no assembly required:
- Step 1: Unpackage the Large Router Guard.
- Step 2: Take the wire mesh top off the Large Router Guard.
- Step 3: Fold down the antennas if your router has antennas.
- Step 4: Place your WiFi router in the metal bottom tray.
- Step 5: Feed the wires and cable out the back slot of the Large Router Guard tray.
- Step 6: Place the wire mesh top back over the router and you’re done!
Th Wifi Router Guard is large enough to fit any router.
HOW WILL THE WIFI SIGNAL BE AFFECTED?
Since, by design, the Wifi Router Guard blocks up to 90% of the EMFs, the wifi signal will be weaker when the router is in the cage. E.g. if your house is very big, some of the rooms may not get the signal. Our routers emit such a strong signal, however, that your day-to-day use of wifi shouldn’t be affected as appx 10% of the EMFs still get out.
In our family’s case, the signal gets weaker in the garden. So when we stream movies for our outdoor cinema nights, we simply lift off the top wire mesh for the duration of the movie. We haven’t noticed any other issues with the signal!
