Terrawash is hands down my discovery of the year! Since moving to Costa Rica, I’d been struggling to find an effective and fragrance free laundry detergent. I must admit I was a bit septic when I found Terrawash but I’m so glad I gave it the benefit of the doubt, tried it – and never looked back!
How does it work?
Terra Wash + Mg is filled with highly purified magnesium specially processed with Japanese innovative technology. When this special magnesium comes in contact with water, it generates bubbles of hydrogen and form ionized alkaline water, which makes it easier for water to remove dirt from fabrics. This special water has high ability to remove dirt, sebum, mold, germs, bacteria, and odor resulting in fresh, safe, and clean laundry!

How to use it?
- Place Terra Wash+Mginto inside the washing machine together with dirty laundry. No need to add any detergent! If your load is larger than 8kg(17lb) however, add either half the amount of regular laundry detergent or another Terra Wash pouch
- If needed, apply some stain remover for tough stains as Terra Wash+Mg does not contain any chemical bleaching or brightening agent unlike regular detergent.Sodium percarbonate works well together with Terra Wash+Mg to whiten and remove stains. Alternatively, you can treat the stains with a paste made from sodium bicarbonate and white vinegar . Caution: DO NOT USE Chlorine-based detergent or bleach together with Terra wash + Mg!
- Manually reset machine washing cycle to soak your laundry for 15-20mins so that hydrogenated alkalized water can remove dirt more effectively. Optionally, you can also skip rinse cycle to save both water and electricity usage. Although Terra Wash +Mg can be used in cold water, using hot water makes it more efficient
- If using a drying cycle, remove your Terra Wash+Mg from the washing machine before it starts. Leaving Terra Wash+Mg inside machine during drying cycle would not affect its function. However, you may want to remove Terra Wash+Mg before drying cycle so to avoid unnecessary damage to the nylon bag
- Hang up Terra Wash+Mg to air dry after finishing the washing cycle, (skip this for consecutive loads). Leaving Terra Wash+Mg in a washing machine for long hours when not in use may facilitate unnecessary oxidation, which may shorten the product life cycle and lower product performance.

When to replace Terra wash + Mg
To know when to replace the sachet, simply measure its weight! If it weighs 70 –80g (2.5 – 2.8oz) or less, it’s time to purchase a new one. Unused sachet weighs approx. 125g (4.5 oz), and the weight decreases as magnesium gradually dissolves during washing. Although the product can still be used if it weighs less than 70-80g (2.5 – 2.8oz), it will not be as effective.
End-of-life use
Use both new and old sachets together to boost the cleaning power. Alternatively, plant the magnesium pellets from the old laundry sachet in plant pots or in the garden to enrich the soil (see below)
